We put on the full armor of god not so we can defend ourselves but so we can march into the enemys kingdom to do the work of the great commission satan battles against us because we are gods witnesses to the world when the apostle paul described lostness he often framed it in terms of spiritual warfare. I am going through spiritual warfare at home at my job and with my best male friend this has certainly enlightened me more that i am in a spiritual warfare and we do not speak to people but to the enemy satan has desired to shift me but the lord prayed that peters faith fail not i will pass your lessons to other christian believers. Therefore we should understand just who this enemy is and how he works in warfare many victories are won by those who understand and know the moves of their enemy in spiritual warfare it is much the same way the more we know and understand the tactics of our enemy the more on guard we will be as well as being able to thwart his attacks. Is spiritual warfare in instructive metaphor i ask you to bring your own best theological thinking to this subject for i am not writing an apologetic here but rather a reminder spiritual warfare bears enormous implications as a metaphor and perspective on pastoral ministry and the mission of the church if we take it seriously this
